This week we celebrated Diwali-the Hindu festival of lights.
The festival, which coincides with the Hindu New Year, celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness.
We read the story of Rama and Sita, who were Hindu deities, made Rangoli patterns and created beautiful diva lamps.

In the afternoon, we had a special Diwali celebration party with year one. We had lots of fun dancing to Hindu music and trying Indian Diwali food. Some of it was very sweet and some was very spicy!
