Sharing Some Joy…..

We are absolutely delighted that we were able to film our infant nativity in class bubbles this week. We guarantee that you will be filled with warmth and love when you watch the performance. We have an urgent request for those of you wanting a DVD. In order for you to have them by Friday 18th December, we need to know numbers by next Monday – 7th December. Order yours now on Parentpay:

There was great excitement for us all when the Christmas tree was installed to adorn the lower hall! Thank you to the generosity of the family that kindly donated the tree to us.

  • Y3 recorder rendition of Jingle Bells
  • Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5 & Y6 piano recitals with a range of musical styles

We will be filming the KS2 songs and Y4, Y5 & Y6 bands next Thursday.

PIP Christmas Fundraising

Easyfundraising – If you have not already signed up to this website, please make this your weekend task. Then every time you shop online with many major retailers, you will automatically raise money for the school.

Raffle – The Christmas raffle has over 40 fabulous prizes. Since the raffle tickets went to print, we have had many more generous donations, including: a HP Chromebook, John Lewis vouchers and a great mix of goodies for kids and adults alike. See the full list of Prizes here.

Tickets have gone home in school bags – please try to sell these to family and friends. The raffle will be drawn on Tuesday 15th December and the year group that sells the most tickets will get an extra non-uniform day! Thank you for all your efforts in supporting the school.

Tea-towels & Cards – We are expecting these to arrive next week and look forward to sharing what we have raised with you in due course.

Wreaths – Thank you to all those that have ordered wreath sets – they will be available for collection early next week.

Whole school attendance was 97.2% which is good and within our school standard. Well done to Y1 for winning the bear again this week with a very high percentage! Y4 were again awarded the early birds with no lates – what a great start to each day!

Wellbeing Top Tip of the weekAttitude for Gratitude

Finding time in your day to reflect on the things that you are grateful for, however small, can be good for your mental health. Try to think about 3 things that made you smile, that you appreciate or even acts of kindness that you noticed. Research has shown that actively practising gratitude can train the brain to pick up on positive thoughts and emotions more frequently, which helps to reduce anxiety and feelings of worry. You could try this as a personal exercise, or with family over dinner or with friends.

Christian Value

When teaching our children about wisdom, we also need to help them understand and see the positive impact of making wise choices. Being wise falls into all aspects of our daily lives and it shows others who we really are. Showing wisdom in our actions and words can significantly affect our relationships both for the better and worse. We want our children to learn that we may not always make the wisest choice in our responses but that you can learn from this. It will lead you to making better decisions which will bring about fuller and more meaningful relationships in which everyone feels happy and cared for.

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Supporting the ETO

The English Touring Opera’s Big Give Christmas Challenge is LIVE! Until Tuesday 8 December, all donations made through their campaign page (https://bit.ly/ETOBigGive2020) are DOUBLED to help create ‘Back into the World’, a new music project for over 1,000 children designed to help tackle the impact Covid-19 has had on their mental health, wellbeing and happiness.

As big supporters of the amazing impact the ETO has on our children, we need your help in spreading the world and sharing the campaign as widely as possible, to help unlock thousands of pounds of match funding and bring live music back into children’s lives throughout the UK.

How you can help:

Share, retweet & tag your friends and family in the ETO’s social media posts over the next week. Look out for their campaign video in particular which will be being shared regularly. A reminder of where you can find their social media platforms:
