Welcome back to all our families, we hope that the summer break have left you with some fond memories.
We are delighted to share the good news that Miss Hale gave birth to a baby daughter during the holidays – we look forward to seeing them both soon.
As you may have noticed, there were further developments in the infant playground over the summer. Unfortunately, there have been some errors which are currently being rectified. We look forward to seeing the children enjoying the space next week, especially the new sand hut….
You may have also noticed that that Church hall has been refurbished and is now a more refreshing environment to be in.
Important update for packed lunches and snacks
We have a child starting our school with a severe nut allergy. While we have always expected lunches and snacks to be nut free, it is now something that is compulsory and that we will need to monitor.
We have started the year with a focus on class book corners so that they engage, enthuse and support children in the development and enjoyment of reading.
Secondary Transfer 2019
On Tuesday 10th September at 6pm in the Church Hall, we welcome students and parents from local secondary schools to share their experiences with all our families. Your child might not be secondary school age but it is extremely beneficial to begin to find out about local schools once your child has started KS2.
‘Moving On’ event for families of children in Y5 & Y6 on 19th September at Swiss Cottage Library from 4 to 6.30pm.
Parents need to register for their free place on Eventbrite
Summer growth spurts have resulted in lots of uniform orders! A reminder that if you want to buy uniform, you need to go to the school website and then go to the ‘shop’ tab to be able to purchase what you need. Miss Clayton endeavours to turn around the orders within a few days.
We are sorry that we have had to tighten up a bit on the ‘sock’ element of the school uniform but there were issues last year about children becoming competitive about sock design. We are keen to avoid children feeling under pressure about their appearance – our focus is on development of their character and confidence.
We are trying to get a quick turnaround for clubs to be ready to start on Monday 16th September so sign up sheets will be up in the Church hall on Monday morning 8.30- 9 am and Monday afternoon 3.15- 4 pm only. Club sign ups are on a first come, first served basis. Please do not miss this deadline. You may ask someone else to sign your child up for you.
We have a new science club provider: “Little House of Science”.
If you are allocated a club space, this will be communicated via text message on Wednesday evening next week. Please promptly make your club payments to secure your places. If you haven’t made your payments by Friday morning, your place will be given to another child.
Class band and one to one/group music lessons will begin the week beginning 16th September.
Koinonia expresses the quality of relationships within the Christian community and is based on fellowship with Jesus.
In John 17, Jesus prays that all his followers may be ‘perfectly one’ as he and the Father are one. Through him, Christians become sons and daughters of God and therefore brothers and sisters of each other. They are all members of the same family.
In practice, koinonia encourages us to:
– think about others
– follow rules that are designed to make the community work better
– work together as a team
– have less conflict and a more peaceful environment
