This week our amazing Y6 actors filmed The Tempest in their hubs. They were incredibly professional and have created a performance that we know will impress. We will share it with Y6 families while children at school will also watch it in their hubs.
“Great oaks from little acorns grow.” — Latin proverb
As we gear up to the end of term and a much deserved break for the staff, we know that another six weeks away from school may not have the usual excitement for children and families. While we will not be setting school work during the break, we will update our website next week with activities that you can do with your children. One thing I would like to flag up this week is a fantastic ‘Creativity Book,’ made and designed by Y6 and Ms Periton. It has been posted on class Purple Mash pages but this link will also take you to it. Below is one creation already posted…
In terms of local activities, Castlehaven have organised a summer holiday course – click on this link for more details. They are prioritising the bursary places for local children so I encourage you to fill out the short form which can be found here: https://bloomsburyfootball.com/kca-financial-assistance-summer-2020
The school term will ends on 17th July at 1.30pm. The Y4 hub will be on Tuesday next week instead of Friday – Wednesday will be as normal.
We very much look forward to welcoming all children back to school on Thursday 3rd September. We will contact you next week with information on start and end times, as well as the drop off and pick up points.
A reminder of class teachers and teaching assistants from September:
|Reception||Ms Petrou, Ms Powley & Mrs McQueen|
|Year 1||Ms Sun & Mrs Gashi & Ms Sandzi|
|Year 2||Mrs Evans & Mrs Kabir|
|Year 3||Ms Law & Ms Bergin|
|Year 4||Ms Risby & Ms Clayton|
|Year 5||Ms Wainer & Mrs Hough|
|Year 6||Ms Robey, Ms Woolway (part time) & Ms Hall|
We are very much enjoying the fact that no cars speed past the school each day, thanks to the road closure – it is a lovely space that families can greet each other while maintaining some distance. I would however like to remind parents/carers to be mindful of children wandering across the road unsupervised. Bicycles and motorbikes (despite the sign showing they are not permitted) can sometimes pass through at speed and so children are still vulnerable to being hurt or injured.
A reminder that the closing date for ordering uniform and receiving it before the summer holidays has passed. Any orders after Friday 26th June will be distributed in the week beginning 7th September.
We intend to begin music and class bands lessons in September but sadly we do need Y6 to return their brass instruments to school by the end of next week. Y4 & Y5 can keep their instruments at home over the summer, where we hope they will not just gather dust but will be used to practise.
We will also need Y3 to return their recorders before the end of term.

This half term our Christian Value is ‘Service’
The Bible tells us to share generously with those in need, and good things will come in turn. Each of us has something to offer to someone in need. No matter how small this service is, it will make a difference. Think about what you can do to serve others both in school and beyond.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
