KS2 Online Safety workshops for Parents

As we approach the summer and the welcome free time that it brings, this is also a time when children may be increasingly online. To support parents in how to ensure that their children are safe online, we have two workshops next week:

Tuesday 16th at 3:30pm & Wednesday 17th at 8am in the Church Hall.

Report signing

Parents/carers, please come in to read and sign your child’s report on Monday 15th July: 8 – 8:45am and 3:15- 5:30pm. Please contact the school office if there are any problems. The reports will not be available to sign after Tuesday.

We enjoyed the our wonderful performance by our pianists and violinists earlier this week. We were also delighted to welcome the head of Camden Music Services, Peter West. Sadly, he is retiring after a significant number of years creating and leading an incredibly successful service that is driven to ensure that children and young people in Camden experience both playing and appreciating music – we thank him for all that he has achieved and the legacy that he has established.

On Mon 15th July some of our guitar and ukulele players are performing at 9am – please come if you have received a text about this.

Thurs 18th July – we would like to invite all our families to our summer bands concert and tea party from 2pm.

Other Dates for Next Week…..

Tuesday 16th – 2pm Prize Day in the Church

Friday 19th – 11am Whole School Service in Holy Trinity Church – all welcome

Don’t forget: School closes at 1:30pm on Friday 19th July

Summer Reading Challenge

There is an assembly for the whole school next Wednesday morning where the children will find out about how they can take part in challenging themselves to read as much as possible over the long holidays, in collaboration with local libraries.

For parents, below is how you can get your child involved:

  • Children sign up at their local library and receive a Space Chase collector folder
  • Children borrow and read at least six library books of their own choice during the summer, collecting special stickers to complete their folder and incentives along the way
  • Library staff and young volunteers are on hand to advise and run family-friendly activities
  • Children who complete the Summer Reading Challenge are presented with a certificate and a medal

Additional Library Events in the Summer

Camden Libraries has also arranged special launch events for all Camden Libraries week beginning July 14th, with the following taking place:

Global Goals Exhibition Week

Classes thrilled us all with their ‘Exhibition Fairs’ this week, where they showed what they have been learning through the global goals and taught the rest of the school and wider community about how we can make the world a better place for all to live in.

Sporting News

We would like to say a huge well done to our Y5 & Y6 Basketball team for not only representing our school, but also the Borough of Camden in the annual London Youth Games Finals. This is the first time in 5 years that we have had a sports team make it to this event, so what an excellent achievement! The team came up against some super talented schools from Barnet, Ealing and Richmond in their group. The first game against Barnet was a huge 12-6 win, then they lost 15-8 to Richmond in the second and 15-2 in the third. The team were knocked out but they walked away with their heads up high because they gave it their absolute all and played amazingly together. Well done Ellis, Jason, Lucy, Gianni, Ranyah and Josie, we are very proud of you all.

PiP Summer Festival – Sat 6th July

It was a very special Summer Festival and we want to thank PiP for their innovation and hard work in making it such a success. It was such a strong reflection of the HTSS community where children shared their talents with exceptional enthusiasm and we were able to share in food and drinks along with enjoying other great stalls.

To top the whole event off, you raised approximately £4,200!!! This will go towards school arts projects, the purchase of a portable PA system. Our next fundraising drive will be for the purchase of iPads.

Christian Value – Service

The Bible teaches us to share generously with those in need, and good things will come in turn. Each of us has something to offer to someone in need. No matter how small this service is, it will make a difference. Think about what you can do to serve others both in school and beyond.

“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”                     Acts 20:35
