We hope that parents meetings gave you a good understanding of your child’s learning and development as well as suggestions on how you can support them at home. Please remember, teachers are always happy to meet you throughout the term if you have any concerns or require advice or support.
We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Mrs Bergin has given birth to a baby boy – Rafferty. Mother and son are both well.
The NSPCC led workshops today for our children during which they learnt about keeping themselves safe and what to do if they are worried about something. If you want to follow this up with your child, the NSPCC has information on their website: www.nspcc.org.uk.
Also this week, KS2 took part in workshops with Humanutopia and our hero buddies had their first meeting. There was great excitement as the hero buddies met their new teams and played getting to know you games as well as reading a story.
We have now started to prepare for Christmas performances which is very exciting! KS2 will start working with the English Touring Opera next week as they begin to compose music and lyrics for the ‘Ghost of Dickens Past’ while the infants prepare for their nativity which has been specially written for us.
The dates of these performances are:
Infants/KS1 : Mon 10th December at 2pm & Tues 11th December at 10am
Juniors/KS2: Weds 12th December at 2pm & 7pm
We would like to remind you that young children (pre-school) are not permitted to attend these performances. A lot of time and work goes into preparing for our shows and with that comes high expectations in terms of performance – from which the children gain so much. The performers must be able to fully focus and concentrate so there can be no distractions.
Christmas Fair – Fri 14th December 3-5pm
URGENT – We need to start collecting prizes for the raffle. Please seek requests from family, friends or any local businesses that you know would support the fair. Please communicate with the school office to find out the contact information for the Y3 class rep.
Y6 Cake Sale – Thurs 8th November after school – any parents able to lend a hand on the day, please let the school office know.
Christmas Movie Night – Fri 30th November after school
Our Christian value for this half term is Wisdom
Wisdom isn’t about what you know but about what you do with what you know – the application of your knowledge. Being wise doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with age or intelligence. Although it is a gift, it is a virtue that needs to be nurtured. We support our children in making the right choices and taking the wise action in all that they do and in their relationships with others.
‘Wisdom is shown to be right by what it does’ (Matthew 11:19).
The dates for Children’s Sunday at Holy Trinity Church for the rest of this term are: 18th Nov and 16th Dec.
