Sporting News

On Tuesday, our intrepid footballers played another three matches as part of the Camden Schools Sports Association league.  Our girls beat Carlton 2-1, lost to St Paul’s 2-1 and beat St Dominic’s 1-0.  Our boys beat Carlton 3-2, drew with St Paul’s 2-2 and lost to St Dominic’s 1-0.  The children were excellent sporting ambassadors for our school and we are very proud of their efforts.  Special mentions are due for Taylor (who scored all four of the girls’ goals!) and the goal scorers on the boys’ team: Augie, Wilf, Feodor, Jack and Jesse.  Khalil and Ranyah also played exceptionally well.  The next league fixtures featuring our school are on Tuesday 17th December.

Earlier this week, children from Year 5 and 6 competed in the annual CSSA Basketball competition. Our girls team played brilliantly together and finished in 4th place, whilst the boys were also really impressive throughout the day and came 3rd place out of 12 schools.

Both teams displayed great sportsmanship towards their opponents, the referees and each other. A special mention to Nicola and Augie for always having a positive attitude and for their outstanding performances.

PiP – Christmas Fair – Friday 13th Dec 3 – 5pm

The Christmas Fair preparation is now in full swing but your help is needed in the following ways:

  • Raffle prizes – thanks to those that have already donated but please remember that we need at least 3 prizes from every class
  • We need vouchers from Sainsbury’s or/and Morrisons for food purchases – does anyone have any connections?
  • Tombola and Lucky Dip need unwrapped items
  • Secret Santa needs wrapped gifts

We want to ensure that the fair is as environmentally friendly as possible so we are requesting that everyone brings their own mug for drinks.

Walking Home Alone

As it is now getting darker a lot earlier, children in Y5 and Y6 who have permission to walk home alone after school, will no longer be permitted to do so after 4 pm.

Christian Value

We should all take some time to reflect on the pillars of wisdom: being able to reason, having unconditional care for others, showing patience – even when this feels like an effort,  being resilient in the challenges of daily life, developing concentration and self-awareness and sharing humility in relationships. It is essential to supporting the development of young people that we question how best we can we help our children and ourselves to strengthen these pillars in our lives. “Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold .” Proverbs 3:13
