Tickets for the infant Christmas Nativity and the junior opera will be going on sale from Monday 2nd December before and after school.

As the last two weeks of national canvassing for our votes heats up, at school we will be having an election of our own. This will start to give children an understanding of how our country is governed and how our voices are heard. Year 6 will split into three parties and will be sharing their manifestos with the school and seeking their support. The winning party will then run the school for a day in the spring term.

Fri 6th Dec – Don’t forget ‘Wacky Socks (or tights) Day.’ Our head boy/girl team request that you bring in at least a 50p donation for wearing these with your normal school uniform. They are donating the money raised to Children in Need.

Sporting News

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 Basketball teams on their amazing triumph earlier this week. Both teams managed to win all 3 of their group games and then go on to win in the final. We would like to give an honourable mention to Iona and Henry, who were awarded with a ‘Best Sportsmanship’ medal.

Also this week, a group of our boys and girls from Year 4 competed in the CSSA Benchball tournament. The children were split up into an A and B team (mixed boys and girls), then had to play a total of 7 games against all different Camden primary schools. The A team won 6 and drew 1, resulting in coming 2nd place overall and the B team managed to win 3, draw 1 and lose 2, resulting in coming 3rd place. Both teams played tremendously well together and we couldn’t have asked for much more from them. They should be immensely proud of themselves.

PiP Christmas Fair – Friday 13th Dec 3pm – 5pm

Christmas Fair preparations are continuing to progress but we still need your help in the following ways:

  • Raffle prizes – thanks to those that have already donated but please remember that we need at least 3 prizes from every class
  • We need vouchers from Sainsbury’s or/and Morrisons for food purchases – does anyone have any connections?
  • Tombola and Lucky Dip need unwrapped items
  • Secret Santa needs wrapped gifts

We want to ensure that the fair is as environmentally friendly as possible so we are requesting that everyone brings their own mug for drinks.

Walking Home Alone

As it is now getting darker a lot earlier, children in Y5 and Y6 who have permission to walk home alone after school, will no longer be permitted to do so after 4 pm.

Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 13th Dec

Buy a book and donate to the school

The Book People have a great scheme that enables you to donate money for books to our school when buying books for yourself. If you go to the their website and follow the link to the ‘Big Book Boost,’ you can add us and the donation goes from there.

Christian Value

In the Bible story we hear a parable of the two builders (Matthew 7:24-27) which Jesus told to show us about making wise choices. The foolish man didn’t stop to consider the consequences of his actions, but zoomed ahead with his plans, giving the house-building project no proper thought. The result was a disaster! While the wise man thought about the best place for the house and the best way to build it. He took his time and considered the consequences of his actions. The result was a house that stood up to all the battering it got.

God doesn’t want to boss us around, He loves us and wants the best for us.  He wants us to listen to what He says in the Bible and obey. So if He gives us good choices to follow in the Bible and gives us these “rules” they are meant to help us, not to hurt us.

Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
