As we approach the beginning of December, our Y5 hero buddies have prepared class advent calendars. Each day there will be an act of care giving to others. Please ask your child how they have shown kindness each day and encourage them to continue this outside school and at home. We will let you know the weekend tasks in advance.

As tomorrow is 1st Dec, you and your child need to share as many smiles as possible and on Sunday 2nd Your child is asked to make a Christmas card for someone that will not expect it.

The classes are busy with show preparation this week but Y1 managed to find time to visit the Camden Learning Centre this week where they developed their programming skills through controlling robots. See Y1 page for photos.

We would like to remind you that your shopping purchases can help our school. All you need to do is check whether the online shop donates to ‘Easyfundraising’. Then you simply search the school name and your donation can be made. Websites including Amazon,  M&S, and many others offer this way of supporting us.

Sporting News

We would like to say a huge well done to the Year 5 and 6 team that represented the school in the Sports For All Basketball competition earlier this week. The children were split into two teams and had to play against 5 other Camden primary schools. Both teams played extremely well together and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Christmas Fair – 14th December 3-5pm

Raffle tickets have now gone out to the children – there are some amazing prizes and the class that sells the most will earn themselves a non uniform day.                                          Please return money  and stubs to classes.

We still urgently need your help for collecting/donating the following:

  • Secret Santa gifts – these need to be wrapped and ideally should gifts that children can buy at the fair for their families
  • Tombola prizes

We will also need food donations on the day of the fair but please look out for communication from your class reps.

Finally, it is imperative that we leave the Church and the church hall as we found it, so all support with clearing up at the end is much appreciated.

Christmas Performances

The dates of these performances are:

Infants/KS1 : Mon 10th December at 2pm & Tues 11th December at 10am

Juniors/KS2: Weds 12th December at 2pm & 7pm

We would like to remind you that young children (pre-school) are not permitted to attend these performances. A lot of time and work goes into preparing for our shows and with that comes high expectations in terms of performance – from which the children gain so much. The performers  must be able to fully focus and concentrate so there can be no distractions.

Community Events

If you are still wanting to have some Christmas fair fun, once ours is finished, why not head over to Castlehaven for their Winterfest. There are lots of exciting events as well as an ice skating rink.

Christian Values

Our Christian value for this  half term is Wisdom

Wisdom is the most important gift we are given by God. Solomon was called by God to do a big job at a young age. He knew that he needed help in knowing how to be a good King and take good care of the kingdom. Solomon could have asked God for money or material possessions but  instead, he asked God for wisdom. He asked God for understanding and help in knowing right and wrong. Because Solomon asked for this very important gift, God blessed him with it and continued to bless him as a successful and prosperous king.

As we approach a time of giving, let us ensure that, while material gifts are lovely, we remember that greatest gift we can give each other is care and love, in all we do and say.
