Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.

Hero/Buddies
Today saw our first Hero Buddies meeting of the year. Following Heroes training from Human Utopia last half term, our Y6 & H5 Heroes ran ‘getting to know each other’ games and activities with their buddy groups. It was a joy to see children of all ages engaging with each other in this way!

Filming
The films from our shows are such a wonderful keepsake for children and their families. Unfortunately, we will not be able to produce the films this Christmas, unless we can first ensure we reach our target on www.parentpay.com. The standard price for the link is £10. We have discounted it to £3 for families who are entitled to the free school meal benefit. Please help us raise the required amount by pre-purchasing your film now.
Jamaican Hurricane Relief
A huge thanks to parents/carers and friends for all the donations, there was a great haul of much needed items which will be making their way to Jamaica at the weekend.
OPAL update
Many thanks again to all families who were able to donate items this week. We will be adding more zones and activities to the playground next week, including additional water play areas, more small world and more cardboard creations!
We will continue to collect donations in the blue OPAL bins outside the church hall. In this week’s OPAL assembly, the children asked for the following:
- More of a range of dress up items. We currently have lots of dresses and smaller sized items
- More cardboard boxes!
- Toy cars and other vehicles
- More dolls and accessories e.g. bottles, buggies
There are some items that we would like to purchase for the playground, including an additional music player and more wooden blocks for construction. We have set up a permanent donations tab on ParentPay for OPAL donations, so if you would like to/are able to contribute to the project in this way, however big or small, please click on the link here to donate. Many thanks to those who have already donated; this meant we were able to purchase some more water play resources this week.

The Holy Trinity Way – Positive Noticing
On Wednesday, as part of Anti-Bullying week, we held our second Positive Noticing Day! There were smiles a plenty as children and staff shared the positive things they notice about each other. Here’s how you can use positive noticing to support parenting at home:
Behaviour Tip 1: Build in a positive moment
Before leaving for school, it is worth building in a positive moment. It is an opportunity to notice the good stuff and to frame the day for and with your child. Try something like ‘Thank you for being ready on time, it really helped that you packed your bag last night. I really enjoyed having breakfast with you.’
Behaviour Tip 2: Sharing positive experiences
Sharing the positive behaviours you have experienced outside of the home doubles up as a teaching opportunity. When you are eating dinner, doing bath time or have a bedtime chat, it can be helpful to talk about how the behaviour of others has shaped your day. You can try conversation starters like ‘Was anyone caring to you today? Has anyone been really thoughtful recently? Did you spot anyone being patient today?’
Occasional Places
On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.
Christian Vision
At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.
Toward love and good deeds.
Hebrews 10: 24

This half term we are thinking about ways in which we speak about God; these are called the O Antiphons. This week we thought about the first, O Sapientia. This means O wisdom, something we often mistake for knowledge. True wisdom is not about being clever; it’s about being humble. It begins with awe – the humble recognition that God’s judgment is infinitely better than our own and we need to trust his direction. This act of submission to God is the essential step for wisdom to take root.
Wisdom manifests itself in how you treat others. Godly wisdom becomes a practical superpower that links our school values of care, courage and co-operation. Wisdom allows you to truly care for others, seeing their needs and acting with mercy, rather than just focusing on yourself. This same wisdom gives you the courage to do the right thing, even when others are doing something wrong, or when it’s hard to forgive. God’s wisdom is “peace-loving,” in that it helps you practise real co-operation, meaning that every day you can be a good team player, listen to others’ ideas, and work things out even when you disagree.
Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance reached a phenomenal 99% this week. What a huge achievement for the whole school! We celebrated it in the assembly today.
The attendance bears went to: Rec with 99% and Y5 with 97.5%
Well done to REC, Y3 & Y4 for winning the early birds for punctuality.
