We spent the first few days settling into Year 1 and getting to know our classroom, our new routines and our new teacher and the Year 1 team!
We have been learning through play as well as revising our phonics and number work we learnt in Reception. We have been creating artwork for our class displays and even started painting some observational drawings for our new topic, ‘Camden Market’.
Our second week included, drama with Mr Williams who explored the sounds of the stables and we wrote poems (inspired by the poem ‘The Sound Collector’) which will be on our topic display soon. We have explored numbers up to 10 this week in Maths and have been counting back and finding one more and one less. In Art, we have started to focus on POP art and have started to create our class piece of Art.
