Year 2 Trip to Regents Canal and London Canal Museum

Year 2 enjoyed two trips exploring their topic of ‘Camden and its Canals.’ We visited Regents Canal first, taking a walk down the busy waterway finding relics of the past in a scavenger hunt. We saw an old wharf, original mooring bollards, the old lock keeper’s cottage, the symbol of the Prince Regent whom the canal was named after, slipways for fallen horses and so much more. We even watched the lock being changed.

We then visited London Canal Museum where we able to explore the history of our local canals further. We dressed in Victorian clothing, made castle and roses jugs and even got to ride on a real barge boat, the Angel II.
