This week Year 4 made their own instruments using scrap materials, as well as Design and Technology skills and creativity.
We made percussion instruments, stringed instruments and even a wind instrument! We then worked in groups to prepare a short performance to showcase the different sounds they could make. We remembered from our science learning earlier this term that sounds are caused by vibrations, and we thought about what parts of the instruments were vibrating in each case to produce sounds of different volume and timbre.
