In Year 4 writing, we have been exploring what makes a great sentence and how writers can make their ideas more interesting by helping the reader to visualise them. Together, we unpacked a sentence from our class text The Adventures of Odysseus and looked closely at its features. The students then worked in groups to cut up the sentence and rearrange the words, creating new sentences that still included the key features of what makes a sentence. This activity not only helped us understand sentence structure but also encouraged creativity and imagination in our writing.
