This half term, Year 6 have been learning about the circulatory system and how this helps blood to travel around the body. In this lesson, Year 6 explored the main components of blood (such as plasma, platelets, white blood cells and red blood cells) and used everyday things to recreate this in our classrooms!

We coloured water with yellow food coluring to represent plasma, and dyed some hoop-shaped cereal with red food colouring to represent red blood cells.
The rest of the components of blood were represented by marshmallows/mints, raisins and salt!
