Year 6 have been immersing themselves in the plot of Romeo and Juliet ahead of our filmed performance next week. We loved grappling with the complex plot by making a class comic strip, choosing quotes from the original text carefully to advance the action of key moments or to deepen our reader’s understanding of the characters. Honing our Shakespearean insult skills, we have also written wonderful insult poems between the Montagues and Capulets. We interrupted this war of words abruptly with a formal speech from Prince Escalus.
