Year 4 have had an incredibly busy week immersing ourselves in our topic, The Romans. We learnt all about the Roman number system, becoming progressively more comfortable with Roman numerals and their value.
We have been fascinated (and at times, disgusted) to find out all the weird and wonderful delicacies eaten by Ancient Romans. We studied a mosaic of an unswept floor after a banquet, spotting stuffed dormice, discarded bones and crab claws. We then took a virtual visit to Tranio’s Thermopolia, where we applied our knowledge of Roman numerals to purchase snacks and solve more complicated problems involving Roman numerals along the way!
