This term Year 2 are learning about Judaism. As part of our topic, we have learnt about and taken part in celebrations for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Although usually celebrated in September-October, Year 2 learnt about traditions of the festival and took part in some themselves this week. We tried writing our own new year’s resolutions and instead of throwing them in the river as per usual tradition, we read them to the class and placed them in a ‘pool of future wishes.’ We also tasted some Rosh Hashanah treats including Challah bread and apples dipped in honey.
