Today Year 6 visited Winston Churchill’s underground office! Churchill was forced to direct the war from underground during World War 2 and today Year 6 spent a day exploring his offices. We got to see Churchill’s bedroom, his wife Clementine’s room and even Winston Churchill’s secret room where he had his personal direct line to the American president! Did you know that Winston Churchill hated noise so much that all the typewriters in the war rooms were designed to produce less noise than the normal ones?
