This half term, Year 6 have been investigating and exploring light. We began by journeying around a carousel of light ‘exploration stations’ to build on our existing knowledge and ideas about light.

We were excited to prove that light travels in straight lines by investigating how beams of light can travel through holes in paper only when those holes are lined up. We concluded that if light could bend, it would simply travel around the paper.

Last week, we investigated how shadows are made and how they are impacted by their distance from a light source and screen. We plotted our results on line graphs which allowed us to spot patterns and anomalies!

This week will see us exploring how reflection helps us see objects!
