As a school we work in close partnership with both churches in our parish – Holy Trinity Church, Hartland Road and S. Silas Church, S. Silas Place.
HOLY TRINITY AND S. SILAS
Father Philip, our parish priest, is very much part of the school community. He visits each class every week to lead collective worship, supports weekly hymn practices with both the Infants and Juniors and delivers a weekly assembly with the head teacher. Father Philip has a strong pastoral role in the school community and is always available to listen to and encourage both children and staff.
Each week a class Mass is held in Holy Trinity Church. In addition, throughout the year, there are Junior and Infant Masses for significant Christian feasts. The children are very much involved in the Mass. These times of worship are very special and provide all children with the opportunity to engage in worship at an age-appropriate level. They also provide children with the opportunity to be still, quiet and reflective on the things that are important in life to them. Once a year, children from Year 2 to Year 6 visit S. Silas Church for Stations of the Cross, and both the Infants and Juniors go to S. Silas to celebrate the Patronal Festival in July.
