Parents in Partnership
‘PiP’ (Parents and Carers in Partnership) is a group of parents and carers of children at Holy Trinity & St Silas who work together to support our school.
Our aims are:
- To raise essential funds for the school that enable all children to benefit from an enriched school life; and
- To build and support our school community, making every parent and carer feel welcome.
What we do
PiP runs a number of both fundraising and community events throughout the year, typically:
- Black History Month Celebration
- Christmas Fair
- Summer Fair
- Second-hand Uniform sales
- Quiz nights
- Coffee mornings
- Bake sales
The primary purpose of events like our Black History Month Celebration and coffee mornings are to bring our school community together, and for these we make as much free as we can. Other events have more of a fundraising focus, although there will always be some free activities. The money raised is vital in supporting Holy Trinity & St Silas’s outstanding arts and sports provision.
In 2024/25 we raised £6,882 for our usual activities (excluding the extraordinary £31,425 raised for the Air Cooling Project).
In 2025/26 our target is to raise a total of £13,300
The majority is spent on the school’s Christmas plays and summer Shakespeare productions, in which every child takes part and which have been a defining part of Holy Trinity & St Silas for many years. With our support, the school is able to bring in the external drama and music specialists who work with the children to develop, rehearse and perform these productions.
Beyond this, we also support:
- Black History Month activities across the school, including drumming, steel pan and storytelling workshops, as well as the free after-school celebration event
- Sports awards throughout the year, including medals, ribbons and trophies
- Books for our classrooms and libraries
- Christmas crackers for every child
We also occasionally conduct one-off fundraising campaigns for specific capital projects, which have previously included the school extension, upgrades to the playground, and the air cooling system.
We share information mainly via the HTSS Parent Hub channel on WhatsApp, on the PiP page of the school website, and the noticeboard by the school gates.
We want PiP to be open and inclusive so please do share any comments and ideas!
Who we are
The PiP Committee
We work together to share responsibility for PiP and currently have a group of 6-10 parents and carers who manage the finances, governance and set the plan for the various school events throughout the year.
The PiP Committee is open to everyone who can offer their time – please contact any member or ask Ms Stenmark in the school office.
In 2025/26 the Committee is:
- Pam Xenitellis – Treasurer (Year 6)
- Silvia Gallotti (Year 3 and Reception)
- Simon Dix (Year 5 and 2)
- Laura Bartlett (Year 5, 3 and 1)
- Warwick and Rosel Goodall (Year 2)
- Jandara Almeida (Year 1)
- Alex Pumfrey (Year 3)
The PiP Group
There are also members of a wider PiP Group who support and communicate with their year groups and come together to run the various events. Events cannot happen without the time and efforts of this wide group of people and we are really grateful for whatever people are able to offer.
