The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.

Coretta Scott King

To all our families celebrating; we would like to wish you a very happy Eid. We hope you enjoy this special time of reflection and gratitude, and we wish you a wonderful time celebrating with your family, friends, and loved ones.

Air con update

We would like to thank all the families again for their generous donations – we truly couldn’t do this without you!

We’re pleased to share that a provider has now been appointed by the school, and we are currently working through the various checks and requirements needed before submitting the planning application to Camden Council. There are several parts moving at the same time, and we are working as quickly as possible to get everything in place so the units can be installed for the summer season.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding, and we will keep you updated as things progress.

OPAL update

This week, Ms Arnison (Curricular Lead for Play) and Ms Bergin (Play Coordinator) visited an OPAL Platinum school in White City, who are two years into the programme. They saw a whole lunch time play and spoke with the play team, coming back to school with lots of ideas on how to make our HTSS play times even better! Watch this space!

Children have been enjoying making lots of dens together, creating many a muddy concoction in the mud kitchen, and dancing their hearts out on our HTSS playground stage!

If you are able to donate any of the following items to OPAL, please pop them into the blue wheelie bins outside church hall. Many thanks in advance!

  • Kitchenware – old saucepans, frying pans, kitchen utensils, bowls, plastic plates, old/unwanted toasters, microwaves… anything we can safely use in our mud kitchen!
  • Cardboard boxes of all shapes and sizes – please put these in the blue OPAL bins outside the church hall
  • Flowers/petals for the mud kitchen/potions station – instead of throwing away your ‘past their best’ flowers, pop them in the blue bucket next to the OPAL bins outside the church

If you are able to donate any amount towards our OPAL fund, big or small, please click here. Many thanks! We are currently fundraising for another social space to join our new big green den (a small green den!)

The Holy Trinity Way

Behaviour Tip: regulation first, ‘teaching moment’ later (connect before correct)

What you say to your child in their most difficult moments is so important. At their most vulnerable, they need to hear ‘I am going to help you,’ not your frustration at the situation. It’s hard because their behaviour might well have been very challenging and you could be understandably irritated by it. Help them to regulate first by supporting and connecting, rather than seeking to correct. Show them that their escalating behaviour won’t control how you respond. Regulate first, talk about what happened later.

Occasional Places

On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Christian Vision

At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.

Toward love and good deeds.

Hebrews 10: 24

This week in collective worship we started to think about what happened on each day during Holy Week. We reflected on how Maundy Thursday is a time for us to think about how we treat one another. It marks the night of the Last Supper, when Jesus sat down with his friends to share a final meal and give them a very important message. On this night, Jesus didn’t just talk about being kind; he showed his friends exactly what it looks like to live with care, courage, and co-operation.

Jesus showed us what it means to truly care for others. In those days, people wore sandals on dusty roads, and their feet would get very dirty. Usually, a servant would wash a guest’s feet, but Jesus—the leader and teacher—got down on his knees to do the job himself. By picking up a towel and a basin of water, he showed that no one is “too important” to help someone else. He cared for his friends’ comfort more than his own status, teaching us that real care is found in the small, humble things we do for others every day.

It also took a great deal of courage for Jesus to face that night. He knew that difficult times were coming and that he would soon be facing the cross. Even though he would have been worried and sad, he stayed with his friends and shared his strength with them. Maundy Thursday reminds us that courage is not about never being afraid; it is about doing the right thing and showing love even when things feel scary or uncertain.

The Last Supper was also a lesson in co-operation. Jesus wanted his disciples to work together to spread his message of love and to love one another as he had loved them. He knew that by co-operating and supporting each other, they could change the world. This reminds us of our school vision that intends for us to ‘develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.’

When we think of Maundy Thursday, we remember that we are all invited to follow Jesus’ example. By choosing to act with care, having the courage to do what is right, and practicing co-operation with those around us, we keep the spirit of that special supper alive today.
