Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

Albert Einstein

We hope that our families enjoyed a restful and joyful Christmas break. We extend our warmest good wishes for health, happiness, and success in the year ahead!

Teachers have updated their class pages with the themes and topics for this term; we look forward to inviting parents in to see the children’s wonderful learning in their books on Tuesday 20th January.

OPAL update

This week saw our first OPAL playtimes of the year, along with rain, wind and even some snow! This didn’t put the children off though, as these wonderful photos show!

Many thanks to those who were able to donate towards the OPAL fund. We are very grateful and have been able to order the construction blocks and trolley, thanks to your generosity. We will now be saving up for some more small social and cosy den spaces, for children who prefer a calmer lunchtime play. If you are able to donate any amount towards the fund, please click here. Thank you, as always.

Behaviour tip: Turn up or sit with

Time is often hard to come by, but this week try sitting with your child whilst they have their breakfast, do their homework, watch TV etc. Do their favourite activity with them, turn up to dance-class a few minutes early and pop your head around the door… Spending even 5 minutes of quality time together can alter your child’s behaviour for the rest of the day.

Occasional Places

On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Christian Vision

At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.

Toward love and good deeds.

Hebrews 10: 24

At the beginning of our spring term we came together to celebrate The Epiphany – a special day in the Christian calendar, marking the end of the traditional ‘Twelve Days of Christmas.’ The word Epiphany comes from a Greek word meaning an ‘appearance’ and celebrates a momentous ‘reveal’—the moment that Jesus was publicly shown to the wider world as the Son of God. It is a day about the spreading of light and the revelation of a new king for everyone on Earth.

The heart of the Epiphany story revolves around the Wise Men. They saw a uniquely bright star and understood that it signalled the birth of a new king. They made the long and difficult journey, following this special star and brought the infant Jesus three significant gifts: Gold, traditionally given to a King because it is the most precious metal; Frankincense, used in worship and Myrrh, a rare perfume used to prepare bodies for burial, reflecting that one day Jesus would die for others. These gifts weren’t just tokens; they were prophecies about who Jesus was and what he would do.

The Epiphany teaches us important lessons. Firstly, that of guidance: as the wise men followed the light of the star, we too should seek out and follow the good guidance we receive from our parents, teachers, and in our hearts. Secondly, it is a lesson about sharing our gifts and welcoming others. The wise men were outsiders, people from a different culture and country, but they were welcomed and celebrated. This shows us that Jesus came for every single person in the world. Just like the wise men shared their precious gifts, we should always look for ways to share our own talents – like care, friendship, or creativity—to be a light for those around us.

Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance for the first term back was a positive 96.3% – well done to all!

The attendance bears go to Y2 with 100% and Y4 with 97.2%

Well done to Y2 & Y3 for winning the early birds for punctuality.

Cool the School Fundraiser – An update on Cool The School

Our thanks again to parents and carers for their generous donations for the school air cooling system. Our total fund now stands at a whopping £28,038!

We are in the process of sourcing some further quotes, scoping the ancillary works and looking into planning permission to make sure we can start the project as soon as we can.

Why this matters, now more than ever.
Children who experience tension or conflict at home often struggle more with:
