Goodbye to Mr Williams
We are very sorry to be saying farewell to Mr Williams after almost 20 years at our school. He has made a huge impact on so many children that have passed through our school in so many ways, including building confidence, knowing that hard work pays off and growing the self belief that you can do or be anything you want. Added to this, Mr Williams’ passion for wanting to make a difference to the children of Holy Trinity has kept him with us, long after many others would have realised they had a big enough workload leading the Primary Shakespeare Company! We are so thankful and our sadness at his departure is lifted in knowing that the show will go on. Thanks to PiP fundraising, will be able to continue all our performance projects including the musical project for KS2 in the autumn term and the Shakespeare project in the summer but will have a new drama specialist working with our school.
We hope that families new and old might pop into school from 4pm on Thursday 17th July to raise a glass and thank Mr Williams for all he has given. We will also be sharing some memories in our leavers assembly at 2.30pm on the same day – all are welcome.
Holy Trinity School Fair
Huge thanks to PiP on organising a super summer fair – it was such a wonderful school community event and raised a very healthy £1,621.52. A huge well done to our Y6 entrepreneurs in particular, whose stalls and activities contributed a fantastic £442.50 to the overall takings.

Cool the School Fundraiser – update
I’m sure we have all felt the effects of the very warm weather over the last month and the heat continues to be difficult for our children, particularly in the upstairs junior classes.
Through your kind generosity we have so far raised £17,788. Along with the costs of the units and installation we also need to fundraise for the electrical work and required surveys. We estimate that we need approximately £29,109 to complete the upstairs classrooms and staffroom and we are actively still fundraising for the remaining £11,321. The intention is for units to be installed as soon as possible in the new academic year. We will keep you updated on the project and in the new school year we will let you know how you might further be able to help us reach our target. Thank you again; without your support these much needed improvements would not be possible.
Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance this week was 97.6%, which is great!
The attendance bears this week went to Y1 with 100% and Y3 with 100% – a full house
The early birds went to Y2 and Y6.
Christian Vision
At the heart of Holy Trinity & S. Silas School are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire our children to grow, flourish and work together to achieve their full potential. It is our intention for all children to develop their fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.
Strong in our faith in God, let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, by encouraging one another.
Hebrews 10: 23-25

On Sunday it is S. Silas Day and is a time where we reflect on our school saint and the ways in which he inspires us all.
While there is scant information about Silas, we know that he was an important person in the early days of the Christian church. He was known for being incredibly wise and faithful and, because he was a prophet, God gave him special messages to share with people. Silas is also such an amazing role model for all of us due to is his loyalty as a constant travel companion and assistant to S. Paul, a missionary who travelled far and wide to tell people about Jesus.
Silas helped Paul teach people about Jesus, encouraging others and sharing incredibly important lessons with many people. Together they faced tough challenges; at times their journeys were dangerous, and not everyone wanted to hear their message. There was even a time when Silas and Paul were imprisoned, but this did not stop them. The Bible tells us they sang hymns and prayed until something incredible happened – an earthquake shook the prison doors wide open! This showed everyone that God was truly with them, reminding us that even when things are difficult, we can have faith and find strength.
Today, from the life of S. Silas, we learn to be a good helper, just like he helped S. Paul. We learn to have courage and strength in faith, even when things are tough, and to remember that God is always with us. We learn to share good news with others, whether it’s through acts of care, a smile, or helping someone who is struggling. Finally, we learn that teamwork and co-operation is important, because when we work together, we can achieve great things, just like S. Silas and S. Paul.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of power, of love and of self-discipline.

New Emotional Wellbeing Website for Young People and Families
A new NHS website, packed with emotional wellbeing and mental health information and resources, has been launched to help young people and families, as well as professionals working with them, to navigate support options.
NCL Waiting Room was produced with the help and input of young people, families and professionals. It aims to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for information on specialist mental health services, community groups, emotional wellbeing and self-care resources.
It allows young people and their parents or carers to search for, filter and share resources based on their needs and preferences.
NCL Waiting Room will continue to grow and develop, so watch this space for more details. You can visit the website here and try out the Support Hub resource navigation feature here.
If you have any feedback on the website, you can do this on the relevant pages of the site, or email rtown@tavi-port.nhs.uk
