The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.

This Week

This week was a whirlwind of activity as we juggled busy preparations for our performances alongside the focus of our Ofsted inspection. We want to share our deepest thanks and huge appreciation to our entire parent community! Your care and support created a powerful feeling of strength that we truly felt. I also want to sincerely thank the incredibly dedicated staff of Holy Trinity & S. Silas. They consistently give nothing less than their best for the benefit of every single child. I was deeply warmed to see our whole school community—parents, staff, and students—take care, courage, and cooperation to an inspirational new level.

The Ofsted report will be publicly available by mid/end January 2026.

OPAL update

This week saw lots of wonderful play across the school, as the photos below demonstrate! The children are really enjoying making dens with the new crates, playing with the donated toys and getting stuck in with lots of water play! Thank you to those who have been able to donate towards the construction trolley we are hoping to buy for the big playground; we’re half way there!…

If you would like to/are able to contribute to the project, however big or small, please click on the link here to donate.

As we move into the colder weather, please send your child in with warm, waterproof outer wear for playtimes. We also suggest popping a spare pair of socks in their bag. Please feel free to send in waterproof trousers too and/or wellies.

Behaviour Tip: Offer help
When behaviour is wobbly, rather than reaching straight for the threat of punishment or sharing the effect that the behaviour has on your own emotions as a parent/carer, try offering help. You can ask, “What can I do to help you follow our rule about showing cooperation?” or “I know this is difficult, but we do need to get our shoes on; what can I do to help?” Take notice of how differently your child responds.

Occasional Places

On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Christian Vision

At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.

Toward love and good deeds.

Hebrews 10: 24

This week the ‘O Antiphon’ we learnt about was ‘O Oriens.’ This is one of the very special names we use for Jesus during the time leading up to Christmas. Oriens is a Latin word that means “rising” or “east,” and it makes us think of the sunrise . Just like the sun rises every morning in the east to bring light and warmth to the world, Jesus is the light of the world. When we call him ‘O Oriens,’ we are celebrating that he came to chase away the darkness of sadness and fear, and bring us hope, peace, and love—just like a wonderful, bright new day.

Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance dropped a little to 95% this week, but hopefully this is a very temporary dip caused by a couple of bugs flying around. We will be back strong for our performance week next week!

The attendance bears goes to Y2 and Y3 yet again, with an amazing 99% attendance.

Well done to Rec & Y6 for winning the early birds for punctuality.

Cool the School Fundraiser – An update on Cool The School

Please bear with us and we will update you again in the next half term!

Our thanks again to parents and carers for their generous donations for the school air cooling system. Our total fund now stands at a whopping £28,038!

We are in the process of sourcing some further quotes, scoping the ancillary works and looking into planning permission to make sure we can start the project as soon as we can.

Why this matters, now more than ever.
Children who experience tension or conflict at home often struggle more with:

  • concentration and learning
  • emotional regulation
  • peer relationships
  • attendance and engagement

By strengthening parenting skills and reducing conflict early, we help children feel safer, calmer and better equipped to thrive both at home and at school.

We highly recommend the free counselling service for parents through Camden. You can find out more and register your interest via this leaflet.

Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity with many years of experience working with UK schools to improve children’s wellbeing and behaviour.
