We want to extend our deepest gratitude to staff and parents for their incredible support in keeping our school open over these last few intense days.
Times of challenge offer us a profound teaching moment for our children; by standing strong and united, we show them that there is nothing we cannot get through together. It is vital for our children to see this resilience in action, and to know that no matter how turbulent things may get on the outside, our school remains a safe, stable, and constant anchor in their lives.
Treasurer! We are looking for someone to succeed Pam Xenitellis as Treasurer for PiP and Trustee of the Holy Trinity & St Silas Foundation. No formal finance training is necessary; you just need to be comfortable with finances and enthusiastic about supporting the school’s fundraising and community-building efforts. For more information or to express interest please email alex.pumfrey@gmail.com by 10th July. We want to use this opportunity to thank Pam for her many years of hard work and commitment in this voluntary role. Thank you Pam!
Staffing for September 2026
We are very sad to be saying goodbye to Mr McIntyre at the end of this term. Over the past decade, he has been a pillar of our staff team, consistently demonstrating his many talents across a variety of vital roles—from class teacher and SENDCo to, most significantly, Deputy Headteacher. We are incredibly grateful for his years of service and dedication to our pupils. As he leaves us to prepare for a new life in the church, we send him our warmest wishes and prayers for the future.
We are delighted to welcome back a former Holy Trinity pupil, Mr Nelmes, who joins our teaching staff next term as a class teacher. Being the first former pupil to join our team is a proud moment for our school! Mr Nelmes is looking forward to inspiring the next generation of pupils, just as he was inspired during his own time at our school.
The children will meet most of their teachers and support staff next Thursday 2nd July, as part of our transition morning.
The classes for September are as follows:
| Class | Teacher | Teaching assistant |
| Reception | Ms See | Mrs McQueen, Ms Ricketts |
| Y1 | Mrs Evans (3 days) Mrs Bern (2 days) | Mrs Kabir, Ms Ortiz |
| Y2 | Ms Doades | Ms Bergin |

| Y4 | Mrs Hall | Mrs Hough, Mrs Gashi |
| Y5 | Mr Martisius | Ms Clayton, Mr Freemantle |

We know that you will warmly welcome new staff into our school community.
Y5 at Walsingham
Y5 enjoyed a wonderful pilgrimage to Walsingham last week. It was also a very special time for me to spend with Y5 before they become the young leaders of our school in September. The children were also excited to see Fr Graeme on our visit. He sends his best wishes to all our families.

Air Conditioning Update
We know that everyone is very keen to get the Air Con installed , and that the children have been waiting for a long time for this. Having first been delayed by being advised we needed special sound-reducing covers and needing to source those, we’ve hit a further obstacle with Camden Council who have refused our planning application (on the grounds that on a listed building the covers should not be metal but a more ‘sensitive’ material). This is extremely frustrating and we can only apologise; PiP and the school are doing all we can to challenge and expedite this. Unfortunately though it now looks unlikely that we will be able to install the Air Con this term. Please be assured that the system will be installed just as soon as we have resolved these issues. We will update you when we have more (hopefully better!) news to share.

Christian Vision
Toward love and good deeds
At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.
Hebrews 10: 24

This week, our school reflections have focused on the story of St Lawrence, whose example guides how we work together at our school. St Lawrence was tasked with protecting the treasures of his community during a time of immense challenge. When instructed by the authorities to surrender that wealth, he did not offer gold or silver. Instead, he brought forward the vulnerable, the sick, and those excluded from society, declaring them to be the true treasures of the city.
At our school, we maintain this same high expectation. Every pupil is a valued treasure, and we expect all members of our community to treat one another with inherent worth. This inspires our commitment to care, ensuring our school remains an inclusive, supportive environment where no one is left behind and where kindness drives our daily interactions.
St Lawrence demonstrated extraordinary courage by standing up for his principles under intense pressure. We actively foster this resilience in our pupils, encouraging them to find their brave voices—whether that means tackling a difficult academic challenge, preparing for one of our performances, or taking responsibility for their mistakes.
We also know that a successful community relies on strong and consistent co-operation. St Lawrence understood that society only functions when people protect and support one another. We see this collaboration daily in our classrooms and playground, where pupils learn that our greatest achievements are reached when we work collectively as a team.
By embedding our core values alongside high academic aspirations, we aim to provide the stable foundation required for every child to grow in character, achieve their full potential and ultimately flourish.
OPAL update
Playtimes this week were spent engaging in a range of activities, including: bracelet making; arts and crafts; reading in the shade; small world and puppet play; den building; and colouring in!

If you are interested in reading more about our approach to play, you can access our play policy here.
If you are able to donate any amount towards our OPAL fund, big or small, please click here. Many thanks! We met our target for the small green den and plan to add this to our playground offer within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all who were able to donate to the fund!

Behaviour Tip: managing the heat at home
| Prioritise low-energy downtime at home or in a shady spot this weekend to recharge in the heat. You can support your child by planning quiet connection activities – like reading together, building a shady fort, relaxing with a refreshing foot bath or having a day time bath time! Shifting to a slower weekend pace and validating physical tiredness will keep everyone cool and ready for Monday. |
Occasional Places
On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Our attendance this week remains a positive 96.5%.
