It has been such a joy to welcome our children back to a new school year. We hope that our families had a lovely summer break.
We hope that parents saw the letter that was sent earlier this week highlighting a technical issues with emails. Due to privacy updates by Google, for parents/carers with a Gmail account, all school emails are going into junk/spam. You will need to keep approving our emails a few times and hopefully they will naturally return to your inbox.
Attendance & Punctuality
We are off to a good start this term, achieving a weekly attendance rate of 97.3%! As we set the tone for the year ahead, we want to reinforce just how crucial regular school attendance is for your child.
Research consistently shows that attendance dropping below 90% significantly harms a child’s academic success. Primary school provides the vital foundation for all future learning—the core developmental milestones missed through occasional days off simply cannot be replaced. We appreciate your continued support in helping your children arrive on time and ready to learn every day.

Shakespeare Film
We are very sorry that there was a problem with sharing your children’s incredible Shakespeare performances at the end of last term! We have shared the films with those that have paid but are currently falling very short on what we need to be able to pay for the filming. If you haven’t yet, then please do log onto Arbor to purchase your copy of the film under the “School Shop” category.
Summer reading challenge 2026
We hope that children and families were able to take part in the ‘Summer Reading Challenge’ and relished in the joy of being immersed in stories!
There is a celebration event at Argyle Primary School next Tuesday for children to receive their certificate. All are welcome to attend the event where the wonderful Joseph Coelho will share some of his poems.
PiP Fundraising
A massive thank you to the whole school community for raising an astonishing £14,288 last year! Every lolly bought, item donated, token and raffle ticket has added up to a huge amount which will fund next year’s drama productions and other activities which can only happen thanks to PiP funds.
We will have another big target for the 2026/27 year ahead so planning has already started!
• We’d love new members to the PiP organising committee and the wider PiP group who help with events. It’s fun and a great way to support the community. Get in touch with your year group PiP rep.

A new school year brings a fresh start for our whole school community, offering every child and adult the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed together. At Holy Trinity we hold high expectations for all our children, always encouraging them to aim for their very best. Achieving these expectations takes courage. In the Bible story of the feeding of the 5000, we hear of the young boy who bravely stepped forward with his small lunch of five loaves and two fish to help a giant crowd. We too teach our children that even small efforts matter, they learn to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and embrace every learning challenge with confidence.
At the heart of our school is a deep commitment to care, where Jesus’ example of welcoming the hungry crowd reminds us to ensure every child feels safe, respected, and valued. We know we achieve our best through co-operation, working just as the disciples did when they teamed up to organize and share the food so no one was left out. When high standards, brave learning (courage), kindness (care), and teamwork (co-operation) combine, our small beginnings turn into something extraordinary—allowing our whole school community to truly flourish and every child to live life in all its fullness.
NEWS FROM HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
We have a lot coming up in the next few weeks at Holy Trinity Church!
Sunday 13th September: Back to School Sunday – 9.30am Mass with blessing of school bags. Each bag blessed will receive a key chain as a reminder of the blessing. Bring work bags too!
Sunday 18th October: Harvest Festival and Pet Blessing – 9.30am Mass. Bring along non-perishable items for the local foodbank, and all pets are welcome to come to be blessed and celebrated!
Holy Trinity Choir: We are looking to recruit new members for this fun group who sing once a month at Holy Trinity Church, as well as at the amazing Carol Service. Why not give it a go on Sunday 13th August at 9am. No previous experience necessary.
Youth Alpha; For children in Year 5 and Year 6 (and above) will begin on Tuesday 6th October at 4.30pm in the Hall. The sessions explore faith and include games and cooking, they last around 1 hour. For more information contact Fr Felix at frfelixtrimbos@gmail.com
Save the Holy Trinity Organ: The Holy Trinity pipe organ is in urgent need of restoration. This will cost around £45000. The church receives no outside funding and so we are looking to raise money to restore this instrument which has introduced generations of Holy Trinity Pupils to the wonders of organ music. OPAL update
What a positive start to OPAL (Outdoor Play & Learning) it has been! The children have been quick to get back into their play, making dens, role playing with toys, showcasing their creativity in the arts & craft area, and being physical on the pitch. Music has been playing, dress-up donned and the mud kitchen re-opened to new customers. Our new Reception starters fitted in seamlessly and the children’s ‘Always Active’ uniform put to good use.
OPAL Parent’s Meeting – Friday 25th September 9am
If you would like to hear more about our OPAL journey and meet our OPAL mentor, Nikki Bedwin, then please come along to our very first OPAL Parent’s Meeting, in school on Friday 25th September 9am. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear how the children have been engaging with play in school, hear about the impact and future plans of the project, and ask any questions that you might have. We hope to see you there!

The Holy Trinity Way
Each new academic year, we support the children with returning to school through ‘Settling in September.’ Time is spent explicitly teaching children about the rules and routines of the school day, using our ‘Holy Trinity Way Behaviour Curriculum.’ This week we have been focusing on our three rules of care, courage and cooperation (3Cs), as well as our whole school routines of ‘Team Stop’ and ‘Wonderful Walking.’ 3C awards will start next Friday, so we can start celebrating the children’s behaviour and learning together!

On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Community Kitchen for Local Families
Family Kitchen at Home
For families with children aged between 2-11 years old. A four week healthy cooking programme for families providing opportunities for further cooking techniques and to cook and eat healthy meals together. NCL Waiting Room was produced with the help and input of young people, families and professionals. It aims to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for information on specialist mental health services, community groups, emotional wellbeing and self-care resources.
It allows young people and their parents or carers to search for, filter and share resources based on their needs and preferences.
