This week we celebrated the ‘International Day of Play’ and in spite of the rain, the children thoroughly enjoyed their extra 31 minutes of play on Thursday!

Year 6 School Journey
Year 6 had the most wonderful school journey experience in Wales. Below are snapshots of fun!

Diversity Day – Wednesday 24th June
We have updated the information regarding the activities that will take place on ‘Diversity Day’ – please click here to find out more. We also wanted to clarify that much of the day will be usual curriculum lessons. The added activities on the day are:

- Bracelet making and crafts
- A PSHE National Curriculum appropriate lesson. Please note, KS1 will have the same workshop as Reception, so the lesson will link to prior learning about different families and the importance of being wonderfully and uniquely yourself

Air Conditioning Update
We know that everyone is very keen to get the Air Con installed as the weather begins to warm up, and that the children have been waiting for a long time for this. Having first been delayed by being advised we needed special sound-reducing covers and needing to source those, we’ve hit a further obstacle with Camden Council who have refused our planning application (on the grounds that on a listed building the covers should not be metal but a more ‘sensitive’ material). This is extremely frustrating and we can only apologise; PiP and the school are doing all we can to challenge and expedite this. Unfortunately though it now looks unlikely that we will be able to install the Air Con this term. Please be assured that the system will be installed just as soon as we have resolved these issues. We will update you when we have more (hopefully better!) news to share.

Christian Vision
Toward love and good deeds
At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.
Hebrews 10: 24

As we reflect on our busy week, we are reminded of how the Rule of St Benedict gives us such a grounded, practical guide for our school community. Written over 1,500 years ago, Benedict’s wisdom is all about how we live and work together kindly, purposefully, and effectively as one.
At the heart of our daily life is care. St Benedict taught that looking after one another is our most important duty. We see this alive in school every day in the way our children interact with those around them. It is our intention to ensure that our environment is safe and caring, which in turn gives our children the confidence to show courage. For our children, courage is the quiet bravery of trying again when a task is hard, admitting when they are wrong, or welcoming someone new into their game.
We also know that we achieve our best when we walk together, which is why co-operation is so important. Whether working as a group or playing constructively at break time, our children are learning the value of teamwork and community. This supportive network allows us to hold genuinely high expectations for every child, in their work and behaviour because we believe so strongly in their potential, and we are committed to helping them reach it. Ultimately, our shared goal is to see every child flourish—growing not just academically, but as happy, resilient individuals.
OPAL update
Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) states that every child has ‘the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to their age, and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts.’ This week we celebrated the ‘International Day of Play’ by adding an extra 31 minutes to every child’s play, in recognition of Article 31! Here are some moments from the day and across the week:

If you are interested in reading more about our approach to play, you can access our play policy here.
If you are able to donate any amount towards our OPAL fund, big or small, please click here. Many thanks! We met our target for the small green den and plan to add this to our playground offer within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all who were able to donate to the fund!

Behaviour Tip: “I need you to…”
| Try not to plead or beg with your children to adjust their behaviour. Use “I need you to…” or “We have agreed…” instead. Be assertive not angry. Strong on boundaries and big on heart. |
Occasional Places
On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.
Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance this week was a positive 96.5%.
Congratulations to the following classes who had the best attendance this week: Reception with 98.9% and Y3 with 98.4%.
