Christian Vision
At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.

Toward love and good deeds
Hebrews 10: 24

We started the week thinking about how and why we pray, also reflecting on communication being a way to build connection. In the Christian faith, prayer is communicating with God and developing depth in faith. That said, it is not only about asking for things but also listening, being still, and finding the courage to be honest about our feelings. Just like a plant needs water and sunlight to grow, many people find that regular prayer provides the spiritual nourishment they need to flourish in their daily lives.

As our children are already great STAR listeners, we have started using those same familiar steps to help them connect and stay mindful in prayer. ‘S’ stands for Sorry, where we admit our mistakes and seek a fresh start. ‘T’ stands for Thanks, showing gratitude for the blessings that help us flourish. ‘A’ stands for Adore, which links back to “hallowed be thy name” by stopping to notice and praise the beauty in the world. Finally, ‘R’ stands for Remember, where we think of others who need our help. Being ‘STAR prayers’ ensures our thoughts are not just about ourselves, but about how we can live in co-operation with the world.

Finally, we started to focus in on the Lord’s Prayer, which begins with the words “Our Father.” This reminds us that we are all part of one big family, requiring us to live in co-operation and show care for one another. The prayer then says, “hallowed be thy name,” which is a way of saying that God’s name is special and holy. This teaches us to have respect for things that are sacred and to find the courage to treat the world around us with wonder and kindness. By starting with these words, the prayer sets a foundation for a community in which everyone can grow stronger and flourish together with a renewed depth in faith.

OPAL update

Staff attended an inspiring OPAL INSET yesterday on adventurous play. Watch this space for more den building, a wheels track and swings! If you are interested in reading more about our approach to play, you can access our play policy here.

We are currently collecting the following items for OPAL for our new wheels track! Please place any donations in or next to the blue OPAL bin outside the church hall.

  • Scooters (in good condition) – all sizes
  • Tricycles / bikes
  • Pushchairs/buggies

If you are able to donate any amount towards our OPAL fund, big or small, please click here. Many thanks! We met our target for the small green den and plan to add this to our playground offer within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all who were able to donate to the fund!

The Holy Trinity Way

Behaviour Tip: assertive simplicity

Simple assertive language works. Use ‘I need you to….’ rather than ‘could/would/might you…’. Don’t plead or ask, expecting a refusal. Instead, ‘I need you to pick up that paper before we sit down for dinner’, ‘I need you to brush your teeth’, ‘I need you to remember how brilliant you are.’ Not cross, not panicked, just really clear and remembering who is in charge.

Occasional Places

On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.

Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance was 96.5% this week, a positive start to the term.

Congratulations to the following classes who had the best attendance this week: Y2 with an excellent 100% and Y6 with 97.6%.

The Early Birds go to Reception and Y3.
