Year 3 had an amazing time taking part in a steel pan workshop this week! We learned all about the history of steel pans, discovering that they originated in Trinidad and Tobago and were first made from oil drums. The children were fascinated to hear how this incredible instrument became such an important part of Caribbean music and culture.
After listening to some brilliant performances, everyone had the chance to play the steel pans themselves. The hall was soon filled with joyful sounds as we learned to play Hot Cross Buns!
It was a fantastic experience, and everyone showed great rhythm, focus, and teamwork. Well done, Year 3 โ you were brilliant musicians! ๐ต๐ด
