“We need joy as we need air. We need love as we need water. We need each other as we need the earth we share.”

Dr Maya Angelou

Welcome back! It has been a great first week, in spite of the intense heat. The children are settling well into their new classes and we look forward to welcoming our first group of Reception Class on Monday.

HTSS Garden Party to celebrate Fr Graeme

We look forward to seeing families of past and present next Friday 15th September when we will celebrate the many years of tireless service Fr Graeme has given to the school. We invite families to our assembly in Holy Trinity Church from 3pm followed by a garden party in the school playground.

Parents, please be aware that school may finish a few minutes later due to the assembly. Please contact the school office if this causes any problems.

There will also be a special Mass at Saint Silas Church on Saturday 16th September at 3pm. All are welcome.

Changes to Music

After much consideration, it has been decided to to make some changes to whole class music lessons in KS2. Historically, children learnt trumpets and trombones throughout Years 4, 5 & 6. This year however, Years 4 & 5 will continue with whole class ensemble playing but on recorders rather than brass instruments. Years 3 & 6 will be taught music lessons by Mr McIntyre in which they will focus on other aspects of the music curriculum. These changes will ensure that there is a fuller coverage of musical skills, appreciation and knowledge along with a more accessible choice of instrument to meet the needs of all children. Parents can still sign their children up for individual brass tuition via the Camden Music Service website and we have retained several trumpets and trombones in school that are available for use. click here.

After School Clubs

Clubs begin again next week. Our apologies for the last minute change in day for choir. Choir now takes place every Monday. The positive side of this is that it means we will have our wonderful Fr Graeme available to lead along with Mr McIntyre.

PiP Preloved Uniform Sale

We are on the hunt for any old items of school uniform that are still in good knick. Please if you could bring any such items to the school office on Monday next week. We are going to have a much sought-after preloved uniform sale.

Christian Vision

We introduced our children to our school vision this week, which replaces the Christian Values as our main focus.

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, by encouraging one another.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Our purpose is to live up this vision as seek to embody this in our everyday lives. We ask that families reflect on our vision and how they can support their children to be inspired by it outside of school.
