It may seem as if Christmas has already ended. Most people have taken down their trees and put away the decorations, but for Christians the season of Christmas continues. In many countries
around the world it is not Christmas day when Christians gather and exchange gifts, but on the feast of the Epiphany – 6th January. On the feast of the Epiphany we remember how God shared with the world the gift of His Son, Jesus.
In the Bible, we hear that the Wise Men followed the star from the east. By leading them to Jesus, God showed the world that Jesus was born to share His love and mercy with all people, wherever they come from and whoever they are. When the Wise Men saw the baby Jesus they experienced an epiphany because suddenly they could see that God loved the world so much that he sent his Son to show everyone, everywhere how to live as sisters and brothers. We too are reminded that the love God showed to us by sending his Son is exactly what we should share with each other in both our actions and in our words.
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
Isaiah 60:1

RA YOUNG ARTISTS SUMMER SHOW
Ms Periton has registered our school to take part in the Royal Academy Young Artists Summer Show! The standard for this annual competition is VERY high, but pupils from HTSS have been selected before. If your child has made an artwork they are proud of, we can submit it on their behalf. ONE artwork per child only. The submission period runs from JAN – MARCH 2024, so we have plenty of time. Perhaps you can get creative over the holidays? From January, please bring the NAMED ARTWORK to school for Ms Periton to photograph, along with A SHORT PIECE OF WRITING explaining what you have made and why. To find out more and see examples of work from previous years: https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/
Attendance and Punctuality
We have started the new year with 96% which is reasonable considering there are various bugs still flying around! We would however expect to increase from here so please can all parents and carers ensure that their child comes to school every day because every day really does count.

New Emotional Wellbeing Website for Young People and Families
A new NHS website, packed with emotional wellbeing and mental health information and resources, has been launched to help young people and families, as well as professionals working with them, to navigate support options.
NCL Waiting Room was produced with the help and input of young people, families and professionals. It aims to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for information on specialist mental health services, community groups, emotional wellbeing and self-care resources.
It allows young people and their parents or carers to search for, filter and share resources based on their needs and preferences.
NCL Waiting Room will continue to grow and develop, so watch this space for more details. You can visit the website here and try out the Support Hub resource navigation feature here.
If you have any feedback on the website, you can do this on the relevant pages of the site, or email rtown@tavi-port.nhs.uk
