Christian Value of Service

This week collective worship has been reflecting on how the prophets in the Old Testament faced obstacles and perils in spreading the words and will of God. We heard that their service to God was riddled with challenges that would make most people give up. Elijah faced the wrath of the powerful King Ahab and Queen Jezebel and there were times that he felt like admitting defeat. It was however at these times that God came to him and gave him the courage to carry on with the help of others.

In our own lives there are occasions when things can feel insurmountable, but it is important that at these times we seek support from those around us or from God. It is the service of others that can give us the courage and self-belief to carry on and to truly believe that anything is possible.

All things are possible only for the one who believes! You need to have faith, and only when you hold on to it that even the ‘impossible’ turns out to be ‘possible’.

Sports News

Earlier this week, pupils from Year 5 competed in a 3v3 basketball competition at Talacre Sports Centre. The children played in a mini league against four other Camden primary schools and then went on to play three different schools in the following round. After playing a total of 7 competitive games, our girls team managed to finish in 4th place and our boys came in 3rd place. A huge well done to all the children that participated; they did themselves and our school extremely proud. We would like to give a special mention to Aaron and Anna for their excellent display of sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Attendance and Punctuality

We continued to improve our attendance this week with an excellent total of 98%! A particular well done to Reception class this week for 100% attendance and no lates!
