Some old-fashioned things like fresh air and sunshine are hard to beat.

Laura Ingalls Wilde

Welcome back to our families after what we hope was a good Easter holiday. The children were reeling with excitement on Tuesday after Phil the Storyteller delighted them with the story of Twelfth Night – our Shakespeare play for this year.

As you all will have seen from communication this week, the NEU have called two further days of strike action on Thursday 27th April and Tuesday 2nd May. We are very sorry that the school will be closed on these two days but vey much appreciate your continued support of our great teachers.

Clubs and music lessons start next week.

Finally, we would like to wish our Muslim families wonderful EID celebrations this weekend as they mark the end of Ramadan.

Our spring fair will be on Friday 12th May after school. Please save the date and keep an eye out for any messages from PiP requests relating to this.

Christian Value of Compassion

Being kind to others helps us too.

Proverbs 11:17

In our lives we always appreciate those who are always willing to be helpful. Being kind and helpful to others costs nothing except a little effort on our part; helping others should be something that we do willingly. It is a shame that sometimes we do something to help if we think they will get a reward when in fact satisfaction in helping others should be the reward. Everyone is capable of helping, however big or small they are; it is our job is to keep our hearts soft and our minds open so that we are always ready to be there for others.

Jesus teaches us to be thoughtful and kind, loving in our hearts, gentle with our hands and willing with our feet, just as he was in giving up his life for us.
