When you talk, you are only repeating something you know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.

Christian Value – Compassion
Much of the time we walk around thinking about ourselves, the business of life means that we often don’t properly look at others in detail. We need to learn to look at other people in a more careful way so that we can, in turn, really help them. This is the way that God cares for us. He knows exactly how we feel and what we need, and he gives us just what is right for us.
Jesus teaches us that we must help as many people as we can. He also tells us that when we care for others, it is as though we are caring for him. Let us therefore make a conscious effort to open our eyes, our minds and our hearts to the care of others; to find out more about them, to find out how they feel and what they want. It will be then that we can begin to imagine what it is like to be in their shoes.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Wellbeing Tip of the Week: Connecting with Others
The NHS carried out some research and suggested there are 5 steps we can take to improve our mental health and wellbeing, (see image) – this week we will focus on connecting with others.
Maintaining healthy relationships are important for our mental wellbeing, they can:
- Help us to build a sense of belonging and self-worth
- Give us an opportunity to share positive experiences
- Provide emotional support and allow you to support others

There are lots of things you could try to help build stronger and closer relationships:
Arrange a day out with friends you have not seen for a while.
Try switching off the TV to talk or play a game with your children, friends or family.
Have lunch with a colleague or visit a friend or family member who needs support or company.
