There is little success where there is little laughter.

Andrew Carnegie

As we come to the end of a busy term, we reflect on how well the wonderful children at our school have demonstrated care, courage and cooperation in both their academic and personal growth. We hope that families will further support children in developing these key character traits beyond the school gates.

Teachers have updated class web pages with work from this term so please do look at these and ask your children to tell you more about their learning.

A reminder to look out for leaflets that were emailed from school about Easter activities.

We hope that families have a lovely Easter break – we look forward to welcoming you all back on Monday 17th April from 8:40am. We also look forward to the wonderful Phil the Storyteller introducing our Shakespeare project to the children on Tuesday 18th April.

Christian Value of Forgiveness

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.

John 3:16

This week the children have experienced the various rituals and services that take place during Holy Week in order to deepen their understanding of the importance of Easter. It is at this time that we remember and celebrate our belief in Jesus’ death, resurrection and the salvation this offered: the forgiveness and love of God, the deliverance from sin and its consequences, and the restoration of the relationship between God and people on earth.

Easter is an important period in which to reflect on the mistakes we have made. Leading up to this time we have reflected on the parables Jesus told which in turn were intended to help us to understand why and how to forgive both ourselves and others.

This Easter let us remember that forgiveness is not just an act of self-love but also love for the person you are forgiving. It can be a gift and blessing for those who need it and offer it.

Attendance and Punctuality

Unfortunately our term has ended with a lower than usual attendance at 94.7%. There have been bouts of sickness and covid too but there have also been some holiday absences. Please can we remind parents that children are not permitted to go on holidays during term time. Camden have a very strict policy on this, and we are expected to adhere to it. In addition there is plentiful evidence on the extremely detrimental impact of school absence on children’s academic progress. We appreciate our parents support in ensuring that their child has strong school attendance.
