Christian Vision
Toward love and good deeds
At the heart of our school are high expectations and depth in faith that inspire us to grow, flourish and work together to achieve our full potential. It is our intention that we all develop our fullest sense of self, both individually and collectively.
Hebrews 10: 24

This week, we reflected on the Parable of the Weeds, a story that shows us how we live and learn together. In the parable, a farmer discovers that weeds have been sown among his good wheat. He choses to let them grow together until the harvest, trusting that the good crop will eventually shine through. This story is a powerful reminder that our school is like that field and that we must actively nurture the best in ourselves and others.
To truly flourish, we must approach our growth with care and high expectations. Just as the farmer watched over his crop, we look after one another, ensuring that everyone has the right environment in which to thrive. Having high expectations means we do no accept uncaring actions, behaviour or words. Instead, we strive for the best outcomes for ourselves, even when the process of growing takes time and patience.
Maintaining this focus requires immense courage and constant co-operation. It is not always easy to do the right thing when faced with difficult challenges. It takes courage to stand tall and stay true to our values. By working in co-operation with one another, we strengthen our community. It ensures that our care and hard work travel further, helping every individual grow into their true self.
OPAL update
This week saw lots of sunshine and lots of outdoor play and learning! From blossom dusted mud pies to cosy tarpaulin dens, the playground was filled with activity and creativity! Our calm area had a re-vamp, with Mr Jimmy installing planters and Mr Martisius’ new gardening club planting lots of herbs! Due to us securing a nature grant from the Royal Horticultural Society to introduce more greenery into our playground, you can expect to see more nature being introduced to the space over the next few weeks.
If you are interested in reading more about our approach to play, you can access our play policy here.

We are currently collecting the following items for OPAL for our new wheels track! Please place any donations in or next to the blue OPAL bin outside the church hall.
- Scooters (in good condition) – all sizes
- Tricycles / bikes
- Pushchairs/buggies
If you are able to donate any amount towards our OPAL fund, big or small, please click here. Many thanks! We met our target for the small green den and plan to add this to our playground offer within the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all who were able to donate to the fund!

Behaviour Tip: Bank Holiday Quick Wins!
The power of the ‘preview’: at breakfast, give a simple ‘roadmap’ of the day. Knowing what’s coming (and when the fun ends) can reduce anxiety.
The “yes” space: try to find a few hours where you say “yes” to your child’s safe whims. This can really build relational capital for when you inevitably have to say “no” to something later.
Co-regulation: if your child becomes dysregulated because of the change in routine, remember: they aren’t giving you a hard time, they are having a hard time. Stay close, stay calm, and hold the boundary with hear. Our mantra at school is: ‘strong on boundaries; big on heart.’
Occasional Places
On occasion we have spaces in which to welcome new children and families to our school. You are the ones that know us best, so if you know of any family looking for a school place, please do advise them to contact the school office to find out if we have any places. They are also very welcome to visit.
Attendance and Punctuality

Our attendance continued to be positive was 97.3% this week.
Congratulations to the following classes who had the best attendance this week: Y2 with an excellent 99% and Y6 with 98.6%.
The Early Birds go to Y2 and Y3.
