Year 4’s writing this term has been inspired by The Iron Man written by Ted Hughes. This week, they have planned and written a defeating the monster story with an innovated ending! They found ways to ‘show not tell’ their character’s feelings and write about action in an exciting way. They also included dialogue between characters in their narrative. Alongside this, Year 4 have been looking closely at the Iron Man in Destination Reader lessons. They have been using the following skills when talking about the text: Evaluating; Asking questions; Making connections: Inferring; Predicting; Summarising. Year 4 got particularly good at summarising paragraphs or chapters in 10 words or less!
