Year 1 have been hard at work learning about ‘place value’ this half term. In groups, they have been counting, reading, writing and comparing numbers using a range of practical resources, such as counters, ten frames, numicon and number lines. We have also been focusing on their use of mathematical language using terms such as ‘more than’, ‘less than’ and ‘equal to’.
