We are very sorry to have to say goodbye to a long-standing member of staff, Mrs Gashi. She has been a valued member of our school team for 20 years, and as a former parent too, her association with the school has been a long and special one. While Mrs Gashi was a teaching assistant, she is also a very skilled artist who wonderfully supported Ms Periton in weekly art. Mrs Gashi has now decided to take a new career path, and we wish her all the absolute best for the future—we will miss her!
It was wonderful to hear musical instruments ringing through the school this week as Camden Music one to one lessons began again. Mitzvah Fundraising
On Thursday 19th November we will have our annual Mitzvah Day. Ahead of this, we need to do some fundraising for the activities the children will take part in on the day. The classes are hosting weekly bake sales and ask that parents support by bringing cakes and supporting the selling. The sales will be on a Thursday so that any left over cakes can be sold on Friday. Look out for further information from class teachers.
Attendance & Punctuality
We had another strong week of children coming to school every day with an overall attendance of 97.9%.
In terms of individual classes, well done to Reception with 99.2% and Y6 with 100%!
Reception & Y5 were awarded the early birds for being at school on time.
A reminder that research consistently shows that attendance dropping below 90% significantly reduces a child’s academic success. Primary school provides the vital foundation for all future learning—the core developmental milestones missed through occasional days off simply cannot be replaced. We appreciate your continued support in helping your children arrive on time and ready to learn every day.

PiP Fundraising & Airconditioning Update
We continue to have another big target of at least £13,000 for the 2026/27 year ahead so planning has already started!

We are delighted to share some fantastic news: planning permission has officially been granted for the installation of our KS2 classroom air conditioning system.We are now moving forward with the next steps, which include manufacturing the acoustic covers and finalising the installation schedule.We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you for your incredible support and patience while we worked hard to get this important project off the ground. This week in collective worship, we explored the rather dramatic story of Moses and the Plagues of Egypt. While this is a story from so long ago, it carries powerful and timeless lessons that link well to our school values of ‘Care, Courage, and Co-operation.’
When Moses was called to lead his people to freedom, he faced an incredibly daunting task. Pharaoh was powerful, and the situation seemed impossible. It took immense courage for Moses to stand up for what was right and to keep going, even when facing setbacks and the unfolding chaos of the plagues. having real courage is not about being fearless, it is about doing the right thing even when it feels difficult.
We also saw that Moses could not do it alone. He had to work closely with his brother Aaron, and the people had to unite, trust one another, and look out for each other to navigate through dark and challenging times. So hearing this story reminds us of the vital importance of co-operation.
Most importantly, the heart of Moses’s mission was rooted in care. He cared deeply about the well-being and freedom of his people, refusing to ignore their struggles. We see this same value come alive when our children show care for one another in all that they do.
Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as indeed you are doing.

NEWS FROM HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
We have a lot coming up in the next few weeks at Holy Trinity Church!
Sunday 18th October: Harvest Festival and Pet Blessing – 9.30am Mass. Bring along non-perishable items for the local foodbank, and all pets are welcome to come to be blessed and celebrated!
Holy Trinity Choir: We are looking to recruit new members for this fun group who sing once a month at Holy Trinity Church, as well as at the amazing Carol Service. No previous experience necessary.
Youth Alpha; For children in Year 5 and Year 6 (and above) will begin on Tuesday 6th October at 4.30pm in the Hall. The sessions explore faith and include games and cooking, they last around 1 hour. For more information contact Fr Felix at frfelixtrimbos@gmail.com
Save the Holy Trinity Organ: The Holy Trinity pipe organ is in urgent need of restoration. This will cost around £45000. The church receives no outside funding and so we are looking to raise money to restore this instrument which has introduced generations of Holy Trinity Pupils to the wonders of organ music. OPAL update
So much wonderful play has taken place this week in our playground, as the photos below demonstrate! We have seen obstacle courses, wellness spas and shops created completely by the children; cross year group collaborative play and den making; football, basketball, trampolining and chasing games; performances on the stage; messy play in the (new and improved) mud, sand and water area; and nature explorations around the playground looking for bugs! A lovely, joyful week of OPAL!

At HTSS, we teach children positive habits of attention through Super Listeners (KS1) and STAR Listeners (KS2). By supporting them to practice how to listen and pay attention, we support to develop positive learning behaviours for life. Ask your child at home what they know about being a Super or STAR listener!
