Parent Governor Elections
As you will have seen from a letter that was emailed today, our governing body has a parent governor vacancy. We have always been blessed to have had reflective, supportive and committed parents in this role, who bring their knowledge of the school in order to benefit all children and families. As a parent governor, you are representative parents rather than representatives of parents, which enables all parent governors to bring a different perspective to the strategic management of the school. I would urge all parents to consider putting themselves forward. It is not as daunting as it may sound but if in doubt, please do ask myself or Mr McIntyre for further information on what the role entails.

Christian Vision
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, by encouraging one another.
Hebrews 10:24-25

In collective worship this week, we thought about the time in Jesus’ young life when, thanks to a warning message given to Joseph by an angel, his family had to flee to Egypt to escape the wrath of King Herod. This led us on to think about how, sadly, thousands of people in the world today still share the experience of Mary and Joseph. It prompts us to stop and reflect upon how hard it is for anyone that is displaced from their home and facing an uncertain future. We must keep these people in our hearts and in our prayers in the knowledge that God always inspires people to protect life and to prepare the way for what He is calling them to do.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

RA YOUNG ARTISTS SUMMER SHOW
Ms Periton has registered our school to take part in the Royal Academy Young Artists Summer Show! The standard for this annual competition is VERY high, but pupils from HTSS have been selected before. If your child has made an artwork they are proud of, we can submit it on their behalf. ONE artwork per child only. The submission period runs from JAN – MARCH 2024, so we have plenty of time. Perhaps you can get creative over the holidays? From January, please bring the NAMED ARTWORK to school for Ms Periton to photograph, along with A SHORT PIECE OF WRITING explaining what you have made and why. To find out more and see examples of work from previous years: https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk/

Attendance and Punctuality
Sadly our attendance has dropped to 95% which is not the way we want it to be going for our children. While there are various bugs and colds flying around, we ask that families prioritise keeping any absence due to sickness as minimal as possible. The gaps in learning that absence can cause are very difficult to fill and are only detrimental to the children.

Attendance Bears
Infants: Y1 with 98% Juniors: Y6 with 98%
Early Birds
Infants: Reception Juniors: Year 5

Age: Year 2 to Year 6

New Emotional Wellbeing Website for Young People and Families
A new NHS website, packed with emotional wellbeing and mental health information and resources, has been launched to help young people and families, as well as professionals working with them, to navigate support options.
NCL Waiting Room was produced with the help and input of young people, families and professionals. It aims to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for information on specialist mental health services, community groups, emotional wellbeing and self-care resources.
It allows young people and their parents or carers to search for, filter and share resources based on their needs and preferences.
NCL Waiting Room will continue to grow and develop, so watch this space for more details. You can visit the website here and try out the Support Hub resource navigation feature here.
If you have any feedback on the website, you can do this on the relevant pages of the site, or email rtown@tavi-port.nhs.uk
Camden Music Service
From Y1 onwards, you can sign your child up to learn an instrument in school. For more information and to download the Camden Music Service application form, please click here.
